Billboard Latin Music Awards
The 2006 Billboard Latin Music Awards, the most prestigious event in the Latin music world, will feature top-ranking performers, high-profile hosts, a star-studded lineup of presenters and an exciting red carpet show.

The 2006 Billboard Latin Music Awards will be broadcast live by Telemundo from Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, on Thursday, April 27 at 7PM (6PM/c).

Multi-platinum artist Wyclef Jean, Regional Mexican music group Conjunto Primavera, reggaeton stars Wisin y Yandel, Puerto Rican singer and songwriter Luis Fonsi, reggaeton duo Angel y Khriz, New York-based bachata group Aventura, reggaeton artist Tito "El Bambino" and romantic pop-singer and composer Ricardo Montaner will join the recently announced line-up of performers including Shakira, Daddy Yankee, RBD, Alicia Villarreal, Patrulla 81, Gilberto Santa Rosa, La 5a Estación, Orishas, Reik and La Secta AllStar. Hosting the 2006 Billboard Latin Music Awards will be Regional Mexican superstar Lupillo Rivera and renowned Spanish television personality Candela Ferro.


Starz Free Weekend
Doug Williams, host of Starz InBlack’s original comedy series “The 1st Amendment Stand-up,” will host the free preview weekend. Family Business premieres Friday
FAMILY BUSINESS
, Showtime’s hit late night reality series about an average American family trying to make a living in the adult entertainment industry, will premiere its fourth season on Friday, April 21 at 11:30 PM ET/PT.    

The half-hour series offers a hilarious blend of real-life absurdity and eccentric characters while focusing on the charismatic Adam Glasser and his alter ego, “Seymore Butts,” his meddling, but well-meaning mother Lila, his cantankerous cousin Stevie and his fun-loving girlfriend, Mirna.

Coming up in season four, Adam and the family take their act on the road with raucous sojourns to a Las Vegas swingers’ convention and an adult-film shoot on the Caribbean island of St. Martin.  Adam and Mirna continue their unique and rocky relationship, as Cousin Stevie carries on his quest to become an adult industry mover and shaker, all the while, Lila, the matriarch, tries to hold it all together.

Bernie Mack 1hour Season Final
In the first half-hour of the season finale, Vanessa needs to study for the SAT but keeps blowing it off to make extra money working at a coffee house. Bernie thinks she’s too comfortable living at home and working, so he asks her to pay rent and amenities. Unfortunately for Bernie, Vanessa manages her money well and she sees no reason for college. Meanwhile, Jordan discovers the ability to overpower Vanessa because he is now taller than she is and begins to exert his power with other members of the house, which doesn't sit well with Bernie.

In the second half-hour, Bernie suffers a near-death experience due to the kids’ carelessness and when he awakens from being electrocuted, he feels the need to lovingly impart all of his knowledge to the children before he passes. Inspired by something he saw on “Oprah,” Bernie goes all-out and makes videos for every topic the children could possibly need his advice on after he’s gone. Meanwhile, Vanessa is struggling with her college applications, and she believes Bernie and Wanda don’t have faith in her abilities because Bernie wants to use his celebrity influence with the schools; however, Jordan takes advantage of Bernie’s state of mind and scams him out of material goods at every turn.

The Queen of Trees

Light rays penetrate the branches of an African sycomore fig tree in a scene from The Queen of Trees, premiering on NATURE, Sunday, April 9 at 8 p.m. (ET) on PBS (check local listings). The film, presented in high-definition using macro-photographic techniques, illustrates the astonishing relationship between the giant fig tree and the tiny fig wasp, taking viewers into worlds they may never have guessed existed. NATURE is produced for PBS by Thirteen/WNET New York.
Thirteen/WNET New York's NATURE series premieres The Queen of Trees, Sunday, April 9 at 8 p.m. (ET) on PBS (check local listings). Emmy-winner and Oscar-nominated actress Patricia Clarkson narrates.

Avenger is Coming
Sam Elliott Seeks a New Brand of Justice in TNT's AVENGER, International Thriller Premiering Sunday, April 9 at 8 p.m. (ET/PT).

AVENGER tells the story of Cal Dexter (Sam Elliott), whose duty during the Vietnam War was to locate and destroy the jungle hideouts of the enemy. But today he's nothing more than a simple attorney in Washington D.C. Or so it seems to most. Covertly, he has been hired by a tycoon to track down and deliver justice to the man who killed his son, an American aid worker in Bosnia. As the quest takes Dexter around the globe, CIA agent Frank McBride (Timothy Hutton) must stop him before his mission of vengeance throws the world into chaos.

 


Nickelodeon's 19th Awards on TurboNick
Marking a first in TV awards show and kids' broadband history, Nickelodeon's TurboNick, the network's broadband video service available on Nick.com, will simulcast live Nickelodeon's 19th Annual Kids' Choice Awards, which airs on Nickelodeon television Saturday, April 1 (8-9:30 p.m. ET/PT).

Shakira on AI
Grammy winner Shakira will perform her new single, the Latin-inflected, cross-cultural hip shaker "Hips Don't Lie," with hip-hop luminary Wyclef Jean on the AMERICAN IDOL results show Wednesday, March 29 (9:00-9:32 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.

This week's AMERICAN IDOL performance show on Tuesday, March 28 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) will feature the Top 10 finalists performing "songs of the 21st century."

Actor/rapper Chris "Ludacris" Bridges will make his television debut as a guest-star on NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," episode "Venom" (Tuesday, March 28th at 10 PM ET/PT).

The complex storyline puts Det. Fin in a difficult position, which pits him against his colleagues who suspect his son Ken (Ernest Wadell) in a double homicide. Fin also finds himself in a showdown with his ex wife Terry Randall (Lisa Gay Hamilton), Ken's mother. The story takes an emotional and unexpected turn when Fin discovers a family secret that sheds some new light into his family's relationship with Darius.

 


Dark Kingdom Mini-Series
SCI FI Channel
will premiere the original 2-part, 4-hour hour fantasy/adventure miniseries Dark Kingdom: The Dragon King on Monday, March 27 (Part I) and Tuesday, March 28 (Part II) at 9PM ET/PT.


Dark Kingdom is a dramatic re-telling of a German myth (the story which inspired J.R.R. Tolkien's 'Lord of the Rings'). In the action/adventure, fantasy love story, Eric (Benno Furmann) is a young blacksmith who is unaware that his true identity is actually Siegfried, the orphaned heir to a conquered kingdom. When a comet impacts the earth, it sets off a chain of events setting Eric on the path to his true destiny. His adventure begins with a chance encounter with his true love, the Norse warrior Queen Brunhild (Loken). Next he becomes a hero to the Burgunds after slays the much-feared dragon Fafnir. His reward for which is an ancient treasure trove the beast had long protected the treasure of the Nibelungs. Eric ignores warnings of a curse placed on the treasure, an act that ultimately endangers his love for Brunhild and the reclaiming of his birthright.

Dark Kingdom: The Dragon King features a stellar cast including Julian Sands, Kristanna Loken, Alicia Witt, Samuel West, Robert Pattinson, and Max Von Sydow.


Our House
Doris Roberts and Judy Reyes star in “Our House,” a two-hour Hallmark Channel Original movie which premieres Saturday, March 25 (9/8 c)

Our House tells the story of a Beverly Hills socialite who opens up her palatial mansion to homeless people after one of them saves her life.  Homelessness in America is the “b” story of this poignant movie and both Roberts and Reyes are adamant about creating a national dialogue of awareness about the real-life plight of some 3 ½ million people


The Boys are back
Penn & Teller, Showtime’s
resident iconoclasts, continue their onslaught on society’s sacred cows with their critically acclaimed series, PENN & TELLER:  BULLSHIT!, set to premiere Monday, April 3rd at 10:00 PM ET/PT. 

Penn & Teller: Bullshit! continues its controversial muckraking throughout season four by confronting many of the institutions society holds dear.   Some of the controversial topics for season four will include the Boy Scouts, prostitution, death penalty and cryptozoology.


Y&R Goes SOAPnet
SOAPnet has acquired same-day airing rights to the popular CBS Daytime drama "The Young and The Restless"

Beginning Monday, April 24, 2006 fans of "The Young and The Restless," the number one rated daytime drama among women 18-49 and total viewers, can see same-day episodes in primetime at 7PM and in a Saturday night marathon on SOAPnet.  The multi-year deal also includes access to historical episodes for stunts and specials.

Marge learns of the kidnapping when it is a breaking news report and she must figure out a way to get her son back.

BG signs 3 Season
SCI FI's
hit original series Battlestar Galactica signs for a third season and  production begins in Vancouver in April.

The entire 'Battlestar Galactica' ensemble will return, including Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Katee Sackhoff, Jamie Bamber, James Callis, Tricia Helfer and Grace Park. As previously announced, Lucy Lawless will also join the cast for a 10-episode arc, reprising her role as D'Anna Biers, a Cylon.

Bo Returns to AI
Last year's runner-up Bo Bice returns to the AMERICAN IDOL stage this week to perform his hit single "The Real Thing." After his performance on the results show Thursday, March 9 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), this season's Top 12 Finalists will be revealed.

Bice's first album, "The Real Thing" (19 Recordings/RCA), produced by Clive Davis, made a smashing debut on the Billboard album chart, opening at No. 4. The album is nearing Platinum and has sold over 550,000 units.
