Story: Based on the legendary flagship character of Marvel comics, this is the story of Peter Parker, a high school student living with his Aunt May and Uncle Ben after the death of his parents when he was just a baby. He's an avid student with a much-less-than-stellar social life and a knack for bad luck. While attending a scientific demonstration, a freak accident bombards a stray spider with radiation, and that same spider finds its way onto the unsuspecting Peter's body and bites him, miraculously granting him incredible spider-like abilities; in effect, making him into the amazing Spider-Man. Peter will find that there's a thin line between an ordinary man and an extraordinary hero; and he'll have to be the one to cross it.

Wire STORIES:
April 29 Spider-Man(TM), along with pals Mary Jane and Harry, and his nemesis the Green Goblin(TM), will swing onto computers via a CD ROM card in May 2002 just in time for their first live-action feature film, Columbia Pictures/Marvel Entertainment's release Spider-Man(TM). Serious USA Inc., the creators of the digital portable entertainment on a baseball card-sized CD-Rom, under a license from Spider-Man Merchandising, LP, announced the upcoming set of Spider-Man CD Cardz today, based on the action-packed film directed by Sam Raimi.

April 25 Grand Toys International, Inc. announced today that its Canadian subsidiary, Grand Toys Ltd., expects continued strong sales from Spider-Man Movie Action Figures and Accessories for the balance of 2002. Sales for the first quarter have already been tracking well ahead of plan at all of the National Retailers across the country. With the greatly anticipated Sony Spider-Man Movie release scheduled for May 3, 2002, retailers are forecasting a complete sellout. The Action Figure line is comprised of characters and play sets inspired from the Spider-Man Movie. The Action Figure line includes 6" and 12" replicas of the characters from the movie. Retail price points range from $8.99 to $49.99.

April 19 - Spider-Man Swings Into Carl's Jr. - Spidey-mania is in full swing at Carl's Jr. as the company has kicked off its partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment to promote Spider-Man. For the next four weeks or while supplies last, participating Carl's Jr. restaurants are offering fans three different Spider-Man collector's cups. Spider-Man antenna toppers are also available at participating restaurants for 99 cents with any purchase. In early May, "Cool Combos for Kids" will feature one of four toys highlighting Spider-Man or his nemesis, the Green Goblin. Television spots featuring footage from the movie plus new original scenes have also begun airing.

April 11 -- Columbia/Roadrunner/Island Def Jam/Sony Music Soundtrax will release "Spider-Man (Music From and Inspired By)" on Tuesday, April 30. "Spider-Man (Music From and Inspired By)" is a collection of music written and performed by a generation of musicians influenced by the power and mystery of the Spider-Man character, his conflicts and his adventures. The album's lead singles and videos are "What We're All About (The Original Version)" from Sum 41 featuring a guitar solo from Slayer's Kerry King; and "Hero," a new track from Nickelback vocalist/guitarist Chad Kroeger featuring Josey Scott (the vocalist from Saliva), written for the film by Kroeger.

Spider-Man with Speed

The Dr Pepper Racing NASCAR Busch Series #26 Chevrolet Monte Carlo will wear special Spider-Man graphics for the April 6, O'Reilly 300 race at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. Dr Pepper is a Spider-Man film tie-in partner with Columbia Pictures, a Sony Entertainment company. The film debuts on May 3, and Dr Pepper will conduct a nationwide Spider-Man consumer promotion that begins in mid April and runs through July.

Spider-Man is Stolen!
Spider-Man was caught in a web last month when someone stole a number of the films costumes! Columbia Pictures has even offered a $25,000 reward for information leading to the prompt and safe return of the costumes!

Spider-Man began filming this past February and stars Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man and is based on the Marvel Comics characters. Right beside Spider-Man is the beautiful Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane, Willem Dafoe as The Green Goblin, Cliff Robertson as Peter's beloved Uncle Ben.
