HollywoodFYI.com DVD Review!
Queer as Folk is being released onto DVD and video this week. The release holds
all 22 episodes of the first full season of Showtime's #1 drama. It's a daring
look at the lives of a group of gay friends. Queer as Folk has come out of the closet and will never go back! The only problem is,
once you start watching you can't stop! Queer as Folk is sassy and brassy, a true dramatic treat.
The Showtime's Queer as Folk series is a based on the controversial British series of the same name. The show
focuses on a group of gay men and woman living in Pittsburgh, with looking at their
relationships, careers, loves and ambitions. The show main three characters are entangled in
a web, Brian Kinney (Gale Harold) and Michael Novotny (Hal Sparks) are best friends from childhood. Michael
secretly is in love with Brian, but Justin Taylor (Randy Harrison) a 17 year-old boy falls in love with Brian.
Which sparks a feeling that Brian fights and is yet to accept that he might be able to fall in love too.
Plus in with the mix are mothers, drugs, causal sex and even a new born baby.
The DVD release holds over three more hours of rainbow features! It includes "special editions" of episodes 1, 11, and 18 with
commentary by the actors and producers. There is also a "gag reel" of outtakes, extended scenes, and a season two sneak peek.

Queer as Folk shows a new audience that the gay community might be a little more open
with their sexuality, but as individuals they are looking for love and peace in their lives. The
series is worth buying or renting, Queer as Folk is an unapologetic celebration of life in
its varied forms -- but that should be a motto for all our lives. We're Out & PROUD!
