Aguilera
on FUSE
Tonight Monday, June 7th, Fuse sits down with
songbird, Christina Aguilera in “Christina Aguilera: On The Record with
Fuse” at 8pm ET
and caps off an all-day takeover by the artist. The exclusive, one-on-one
conversation with Aguilera (with rock journalist Jaycee Dunn) touches on her new
album, Bionic, her family life, her sexuality and much more.
On her wild outfits over the years: “Chaps, and all those things, I get into the dress up, I do, I get into the dress up. I always have, ‘Lady Marmalade,’ you know, corsets and push up bras aren’t necessarily that comfortable, but for me, I really get into the whole costuming of it.”
On being called a bitch: “I think every woman at one point in their lives or another has been called a bitch. And you know for a long time I had a problem with that word, I didn’t like it. You know, and I thought it was derogatory, but then I don't know, I have gotten to a place now where I’ve made a lot of peace with it. It's been so overused, and made to seem so derogatory towards women, that I’ve almost adapted it to an empowering feeling for myself. You know, if I’m a bitch, then I’m a bitch. If being a strong assertive woman with an opinion, which many people can’t handle, is to you. So I adapted it as sort of a badge of honor.”
On how she has made peace with her past: “My son Max, has been able to help me make peace with my own past, and make me feel like I can have a fresh start in incorporating peace and safety and having a safe haven for, my son and my family that I was never able to have growing up.”
