Free Lasagna!!!
Thursday, July 29 is officially National Lasagna Day and Buca di Beppo will celebrate by offering FREE lasagna.

Valid at all Buca di Beppo locations throughout the country, guests who purchase any Buca Small or Buca Large sized pasta or entrée will receive a free lunch-sized portion of lasagna.

During its celebration last year, Buca di Beppo marked National Lasagna Day by giving away over more than 18,000 pounds of Lasagna, approximately the same weight as nine Italian-made Fiat automobiles.

Buca di Beppo lasagna is famous for its towering layers of lasagna noodles stuffed with homemade meat sauce and a combination of ricotta, mozzarella, provolone and parmesan cheeses; a favorite among Buca guests. The casual Italian eatery also offers a variety of budget friendly pastas and entrées including spaghetti with meatballs, fettuccine alfredo and chicken parmigiana.

The origins of lasagna date back to the 1st century B.C. where a food called "lagana" was a common meal consisting of fine sheets of fried dough. In the 2nd century Athenaeus of Naucratis, a Greek scholar, provided a recipe for lagana that was made with sheets of wheat-flour dough and the juice of crushed lettuce, then flavored with spices and deep-fried in oil. An early 5th century cookbook describes a dish called lagana that consisted of layers of dough with meat stuffing, a possible ancestor of modern-day Lasagna, though the first concrete information concerning pasta products in Italy dates from the thirteenth or fourteenth century. The word "lagána" survives today in modern-day Greece to denote an unleavened, flat bread eaten during the Great Lent.

Zac on Parade
In PARADE's July 25 cover story with Charlie St. Cloud star Zac Efron, the 22-year-old actor gives an inside look into how he spends his summers and opens up about his "partner in crime" Vanessa Hudgens.

In these exclusive extras on Parade.com, Efron talks about leaving his teen-idol phase behind for his latest role as a young man torn between mourning the loss of his brother and moving on with his life. Plus, what he misses most about his high school days and how he came to be known as a "floater."

Here are some highlights from the Parade.com extras:

What attracted him to such a sobering role.
"Every once in awhile, you read a script and you get that special feeling in your gut. I was touched by what the character, Charlie, goes through, and I thought it was a story worth sharing. And the fact that I have a little brother myself gave it a lot of resonance."

He has help from girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens when it comes to taking care of his Hollywood Hills home.
"I'm not neat by nature, but I'm kind of figuring it out -- and Vanessa helps out a lot. Right now, we're doing great and just having a lot of fun together."

Comic-con TV Guide Covers
Warner Bros. Television Group and TV Guide Magazine have cooked up something special for fans at this year’s Comic-Con: a special edition of the magazine devoted solely to programming from the Studio, with four collectible covers featuring the hit television series “The Big Bang Theory,” “Fringe,” “Smallville” and “The Vampire Diaries.”

WBTVG will distribute copies of the magazine throughout the five days of Comic-Con (including Preview Night) exclusively at the Warner Bros. booth, #4545, on the convention floor. The special issue will then go on sale nationally to the public on newsstands beginning Monday, July 26.

Funny Men on August GQ
The August “Comedy Issue” of GQ (on newsstands nationwide 7/20), features three different (and hilarious) individual covers: Paul Rudd, Zach Galifianakis, and Tracy Morgan. They all sat down with GQ to discuss what things they find to be “Never Not Funny,” inevitably developing a conversation full of laugh-out-loud one-liners, ridiculous anecdotes, and even some moments of pure profundity.

Tracy Morgan on the importance of being uncool in order to be funny: “Cool is the enemy of funny. You can’t be cool and be funny at the same time. Only Eddie Murphy could do that.”

...on making Obama funny: “Black people joke about it all the time. It’s a black family, so we make fun of it. ‘Michelle, where’s my cigarettes? I had a pack of Kools sitting on the DESTRUCT button!’ I just think that white people don’t want to offend him. Me, I make fun of every f*cking body. I don’t care. I never say black humor or white humor. I never put the black race on my back.”

Zach Galifianakis on what is “never not funny”: “I think miscommunication is funny. I will never stop a conversation between two people if I’m the third party. My dad was talking to this Greek guy who was telling him about olive soap, soap made out of olives. But my dad was talking about olive soup. And my dad is like, so you put the olive soup all over your body in the shower? It was just the funniest thing.”

Tori Spellings New Book
Tori Spelling has a new book out called "Uncharted Territori"

In her new book, Tori comes clean about doing her time on jury duty, stalking herself on Twitter, discovering her former 90210 castmates’ "I Hate Tori" club, contracting swine flu, and contacting Farrah Fawcett from the dead.

Like many mothers, she struggles to find balance (Stars, they’re just like us!)—only most women don’t have to battle it out with paparazzi at the grocery store. She talks openly about the darker side of life in the spotlight: media scrutiny over her weight and her marriage to Dean McDermott, her controversial relationship with Dean’s ex-wife, and her unfolding reconciliation with her mother.

Tori's new book Uncharted Terrtori  is now available in bookstores and on-line.

Kyra Talks about MORE!
Kyra Sedgwick’s star turn in the TNT series The Closer, which starts its sixth season in July, has made her a Golden Globe-winning household name. In the July/August issue of More, Sedgwick gets personal about the role that led to body image issues, the money she lost to Bernie Madoff and why she’s looking forward to a new phase in her long-running marriage to Kevin Bacon.

On finding out that their Madoff investments had vanished: “I laughed. I just couldn’t believe it. It’s awful, and it’s really sad and infuriating. And there are a lot of people who are so much worse off than we are. He’s a sick man.”…”You know what it’s shattered my trust in? The government taking care of us. The S.E.C. knew – they knew.”

About her imminent empty-nest status: “You’ve had this job forever, it’s the job you always wanted to do, and you were pretty good at it. Then you get fired for no reason!” She laughs, then adds that she’s been literally scheming to spend time with Sosie. “I set my alarm to wake up so I can see her. I don’t make plans on weekday evenings in case I can spend time with her. It’s pathetic; I don’t care.”

About success from The Closer: “Kevin has to share me with more of the world now than he signed up for. He did sign up for an actress, but my life has become bigger, and I’ve become more independent: I’m away six months a year, and he’s been home a lot with the kids. I go to work, and sometimes at the end of the day, I’m too tired to have a really long conversation…To be able to count on someone like that, it moves me.”

Heigl's Killer HB cover
Katherin Heigl on June 2010 BHThe Killers
star, Katherine Heigl graces next month’s cover of Harper’s Bazaar which hits newsstands on June 1st. The outspoken actress, who stars in the action comedy Killers, reveals that co-star Ashton Kutcher “looks so hot with his shirt off,” and:

Heigl on speaking her mind: “I spent so many years just saying what I felt without thinking about the ramifications, without understanding that I have this opinion but not everyone might share that opinion and now they don’t like me because of it. That was really awkward.”

Heigl on being a normal girl: “I hate it when people say this, but I’m a people pleaser,” she explains. “I was really raised with the idea that it’s important to be honest and to share your experiences, both disappointing and exhilarating. But sometimes I think the American public just wants to see my life a good fortune. They don’t want to know about the day-to-day. It ruins the fantasy. It’s lame to say that I’m a normal girl, but I think I am.”

Heigl on keeping up with the fashions of fellow celebrities’ daughters: “Dude, I try, but I’m not nailing the baby fashion. It’s intimidating. I get beautiful outfits from Gap and baby Juicy, but I’m not layering it or putting her in Prada flats. It’s really stressing me out.”

Heigl on her marriage to singer Josh Kelley: “There were a good few weeks when I almost smothered him with his pillow,” she says. But that’s marriage, she adds: “two people with totally different lives and totally different experiences just trying to fit.”

Zoe shines on SELF
The 2010 May cover of SELF magazine features Avatar star, Zoe Seldana in a beautiful floral fashion spread, which was shot in Cabo San Lucas.  She talks about how she is not a girly girl and Caribbean life.

Here's some FYI scoop! The paparazzi were tipped off that she was there. The day of the shoot she found out that Avatar is the highest grossing movie of all time. They met her at the airport. The morning of the cover shoot, a boat of paparazzi were out at the water with telescopes and binoculars.  We got hotel staff on the case and we had 7 staff members holding up giant mirrors to reflect the sunlight into the cameras so that their pictures wouldn’t come out.  Then we also called the Marines (who were based next door) and they went on their boat and just floated in front of the photographers so that they couldn’t take pictures.

The May edition of SELF magazine will be on newsstand  soon.

GLEE Gone Wild
The Glee cast have gone WILD on the new cover of Rolling Stone!  The hit show is coming back to the small screen!

“Glee Gone Wild” quotes from Glee creator, Ryan Murphy & actor Cory Manteith who plays Flnn from the current article in Rolling Stone.  To read more:

Ryan Murphy on his childhood:
“I liked church and was obsessed with the crucifixion and leprosy and the pope. I would stand in church with my arms spread for an hour, doing penance for my sins because you can’t be the pope if you sin. The nuns told my parents there was something wrong with me.”

Ryan Murphy on being gay:

“When I was eight, a 16-year-old football player molested me. He was popular, and it was very innocent. I felt like Lolita in some way, like I wanted it. It wasn’t terrible. I’ve always known I was gay. In high school, I felt loved. I was weird. I was a hell-raiser. But I was happy.”

Ryan Murphy on Glee’s concept:
“But you know what it really is? It’s four acts of darkness that take a turn and have two acts of sweetness. It’s about there being great joy to being different, and great pain. With Nip/Tuck, I’d written so much about anal sex and crystal-meth addiction that with this show I was adamant about ‘Let’s give people a warm moment. Let’s give people a happy ending.’”

Cory Monteith on if he’s made out with any of his Glee cast mates:
“No. Can’t mix business with pleasure.”

Cory Monteith on if he was some kind of hustler or a con as a kid:
“Lots of kids in situations like mine are. You bend yourself from a young age, you’re a chameleon. Whatever environment I was in, I adapted. When I first moved to L.A., I didn’t like it. But now I think it’s a pretty cool place. I blend right in here. I like it. It’s a city of chameleons. Whatever I need to be, I am, and it’s me and it’s not me. You know what’s funny about being a chameleon? If you speak convincingly with some razzle-dazzle, a large portion of the population will believe you, even if what you say is utter nonsense.”

Cory Monteith on his nickname, Frankenteen:
“It’s because I’m huge and awkward, and I’m not a teen but I’m playing a teen. I’m like the assembled teen.”

Deep Most Stylish!
Cover photo: Patrick DeMarchelier / GQ

In the February 2010 issue of GQ, is naming the 25 Most Stylish Men in the World for 2010, and heading up the list is Johnny Depp.

Also making the list: Robert Pattinson, David Beckham, Ed Westwick, Ryan Gosling, Jay-Z, Tom Brady, Anderson Cooper, LeBron James and more!

The February issue hits news stands nationally on January 26 and is available on iTunes.

More of Mariska!
Mariska Hargitay is riding high as one of prime times best-loved (and highest-paid) actresses. The Law & Order: SVU star opened up to More for its February issue and discussed her surprising financial worries, thoughts on The Jay Leno Show bumping SVU, and living in the shadow of her iconic mother, Jayne Mansfield.

Here are some excerpts from the story, on newsstands January 26th:

Why even she stresses about money: “I constantly worry about money. I make a lot now, but I don’t feel that way, because I was poor and had no money for a lot longer than I’ve had it. As an actor, if this show ends next year, then what? As an aging woman, then what? I’m saving money to live on, for the future. There are not that many roles for women, and I’ve been blessed with one of the great ones.”

About SVU’s move into the 9PM slot because of The Jay Leno Show : “It ruined our numbers. The first four episodes, we were considerably down because nobody knew when the show was on.  Finally, we’re starting to find our audience again.” Given Leno’s disappointed ratings, she wishes the network brass would reconsider. “I hope we go back to where we belong. It was doing so well. Why mess with it?”

About the constant pressure for actresses to be beautiful: “I think I’m a very attractive person, but I don’t put myself in the realm of the beauty. That’s not where I get my esteem. I’m a size 8, and I feel proud of that, because it’s healthy. I’ve never felt compelled to be a skinny actress.”

About handling rejection as an exotic brunette beauty: “A guy at ABC told me to change my name and get a nose job. I said, ‘You get a nose job.”

About being compared with her mother, Jayne Mansfield: “I can never compete, so I don’t try. It’s mega über, it’s legendary, it’s iconic. Being a sex symbol is not my thing; it’s not where I shine.”

About finding her “home”: “Children, when they lose their mother, have a different antenna: ‘When will I be safe? When will I be home? I lost my home too early. I’m getting it back through Peter and August, and, strangely, through the foundation. It’s about following the signs, listening to your inner voice. I’m living my life, and I know that this is what I’m supposed to be doing.”

About getting hurt on the set of SVU: In October, Hargitay landed awkwardly and didn’t’ realize until months later that she had suffered a collapsed lung. “I thought it was a pulled rib. I’m pretty tough. When I couldn’t breathe anymore, I got an X-ray, and they couldn’t believe I was walking…I was doing stunts when I was pregnant. I’d fall, jump on guys. Now there are scenes when I have to run, and I’ll only take a few steps. Everyone is super-careful of me.

About Joyful Heart, her foundation which helps survivors of sexual assault: “Doing something about it takes away some of my sadness. We can get closer to cures by shining a light on [the abuse]. I liken it to what happened with AA 15 years ago, where there’s not a stigma to it. We’d love to see that happen to sexual assault.”

Tatum with the Details Photo credit: Norman Jean Roy
The sexy Channing Tatum graces the cover of the February issue of DETAILS Magazine, hitting stands January 19. Star of the upcoming drama Dear John, Tatum shows off his undeniable charm and hot body in our in-depth feature and extensive slideshow.  Plus, our exclusive interview with Chan about the accident that caused severe burns to his penis.

On his burnt penis: “It was the most painful thing I have ever experienced in my life…I’ve been to the hospital, gotten stitches, had broken fingers and toes.  But this was a suffocating kind of pain…Now my penis is fantastic!”

On depression: “The longer I took Dexedrine, the worse I felt.  It sucked all the personality from me.  I’d get depressed.  I would think suicidal – I was never personally suicidal, but I could see how some kids were, how they’d be, like, I can’t take this anymore.”

On his dancing: “I’ve been wanting to talk about this forever! You have publicists and managers saying no, and I’m like, Mmm-mmm, it’s gonna come out… I think it’s hil-larious… I’m gonna make a movie about it…I’m happy I did it.”
